Compasses don’t work anywhere because the earth is flat
I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

My father's B-17 copilot got them lost on a stormy night during a "night navigation training flight" over the triangle in late 1944- - - -they found their way home. They were in their final weeks of training before heading to England from McDill Field in Tampa. Yes, he said the magnetic compass was erratic at times. They navigated by gyro headings after having an almost violent disagreement about which way to fly. Dad won, and they flew west for 5+ hours before finding the east coast of Florida. They found out later that they were bucking a 100 MPH headwind on the return trip. The idiot copilot was sure they were over the Gulf of Mexico and had to fly east! Dad's logic was fly west, and find either the east coast, or Texas. Fortunately, he was right.

Having flown through "the Bermuda Triangle" both ways many times, I will assure you the compass's worked just fine and normally.

Never had a problem. I knew a former hurricane hunter that penetrated hurricanes in the "triangle" and made it back.

I’d bet I have well over 1000 hours logged over the Bermuda triangle back in my Navy days. My compasses and other instruments worked just fine except for one time. We launched off the ship in the middle of the BT approximately 500 miles NNW of San Juan on our way to NS Roosevelt Roads. A little over 100 miles from the ship suddenly everything pointed different directions…compasses (3), Omega and Doppler Nav too. It was a nice sunny day so we used dead reckoning based on the sun’s location with forecast winds. We ended up on the west side of Puerto Rico when just as suddenly everything aligned and worked properly. I talked to the maintenance guys and they said they would check everything. They found nothing. I bought them a couple cases of beer for their troubles. I flew that airplane many times in the same area and nothing ever happened again.

I was a controller at Miami ARTCC from 1984 to 1993 never had an aircraft that had a problem from just flying through the area...

There was an episode about the Bermuda Triangle on one of the TV shows like Discovery or something about 20 years ago. Under the Bermuda Triangle is about a 10,000 year supply of natural gas in hydrate rocks. 10,000 year supply. Right now it is too deep to mine. However, occasionally there will be an underwater rock slide that will release a huge amount of natural gas bubbles. They had a film of a fishing boat sinking in the foam of the gas coming up out of the water by another boat that was not affected. The boat just sunk immediately in the bubbles. So, these same flammable bubbles can rise in the air and blow up an airplane engine. It is not aliens, or such nonsense. If America could mine these hydrate rock formations we would have an unlimited supply of natural gas. However don't tell the global warming crowd or climate change crowd. They also said there was a hydrate field off Japan and Greenland. Japan is trying to mine theirs because they import all their oil and gas.
