It was Lonesome Dove that put Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall on the radar for Gen X’ers.
I remember I was in high school when it came out and it was a pretty big deal. All of us boys were quoting the lines the next day from the previous nights episode.
We still are, 35 years later…..

I love the details. Gus using his pistol as a possible club to get Woodrow's attention. Was that a Colt's Dragoon? And I agree with CashisKing, MANY good life lessons in the series.

TLJ was a good villain in Under Siege with Steven Seagull
He did fairly well in Rolling Thunder shooting up the bar/bordello

Was it for the first time? Yes Jim. There was a stretch in my life I never watched tv. I discovered machining and that took up my free time. Cheers! Alan Then you have a lot more to watch. I suspect you didn't miss much at all really. TV and Movies are really not that great and can be a huge waste of time mostly. OTOH when the day is done and its dark out, we do enjoy documentary type stuff at times. Though I rarely see any TV for 6 months of most years. And don't miss it one bit. Hadn't been to a movie in probably 15 years or so until top gun 2 or whatever came out.. Got drug with friends and it was ok. But again not seeing it wouldn't have missed anything
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

Just read something a day or so ago about this movie. I had forgotten he owns a fairly large working ranch and can ride a horse well enough. He did all his riding scenes and would not allow a stand in or stunt double for horse back scenes. Don’t care for his politics but have always liked his acting.

I do not recall Call saying the line "I can not tolerate rude behavior in a man," in the book. But it has been many years since I read it. FWIW. L.W.
