Interesting that a forum that believes you should be able to sharpen a knife with stones by the age of 4 is also concerned about dulling a knife on Outback steak.

You would not be disappointed.

Were I a philistine I’d make a crack about you liking wabi’s meat.

But since I said it looked tasty I’d be better served not.

Proper way to eat a steak!

That’s the way we do in Nebraska….!!? ‘Cept that looks to be cooked and everyone knows cooking kills the flavor!!

Kinda like not turning your flashlight on 'cause it wears the battery down

I don't remember how many layers, but it wasn't many. This was a 15n20/1095 simple Damascus I'd made to give to a friend to to compliment the carving set I'd made for him. I [bleep] it up and was a separation thus not worth giving or selling. So I decided to use it for the hell of it. It's all I use for a multitude of kitchen stuff, cutting steak or pork chops, or slicing butter (can get it thin as fûck with a thin blade, who knew?). A couple swipes on the steel once in a while is all it needs. Screw the serrated steak knives.

We were asked to leave an Applebee's once. Working on a job for a farm co-op that had buried a bunch of pesticide-treated seed corn. They were building something on-site and needed it dug up, tested, and hauled to the landfill. It had been buried long enough to turn sour, but not long enough to completely rot, smelled just like vomit and we were walking around in that stuff all morning. Turns out it was one of those smells that you get used to and don't smell any more after a couple hours, but the other customers in the restaurant sure could.

The tip-ff was when a few ladies were brought to the booth next to us to be seated and started looking at the bench seats and floor and asking "somebody throw up in here?"

LOL!!

This post is ironic. I read it yesterday and yesterday my local Sportsmans club had its annual meeting members only so they serve prime rib as I got my prime rib. I seen the basket of garage sale, plastic handle steak knives.
I assure you the majority guys are like those on the fire, pull out a buck 110 or some folding knife in their pocket, and eat their prime

If I was dining in any state east of the Mississippi or on the left coast, I'd be pretty careful about pulling a knife even in a restaurant. Hate to end up in the hoosegow for a concealed weapons violation.

You wouldn’t have much trouble in Georgia. A few places in Atlanta maybe, but I’ve used my pocket knife many times and never even got a cross look.

Can't beat em for the price.

They are. I have had mine for years. Easy to sharpen, inexpensive to buy. Great knife.

My 30+ year old Leatherman has done a ton of steaks.

At home I have two 6-knife sets by Chicago Cutlery. Not serrated.

Steak knives.

If I had to resort to my Leatherman....I would just pick the damn steak up and eat it.
