And here I am suddenly giving serious consideration to adding a Swedish Mauser to my stable while the ammo gets scarce. I’m almost to the point of collection ammo for rifles I don’t yet own when I run into supplies at a decent price.

Will keep my eyes open for the caliber.

There's ammo all over the place.....are you looking for something specific? Brand/bullet?

I've got some Norma with the 140 Partition if that is of interest.

New rifle so I don't know.

I've got several boxes of 140 Norma if you're interested. I have no need for them and always consider trade options.

SGammo is a great source for 6.5x55. Fast shipping, too.

If I didn't have 3 cases of the Norma Partition ammo, I'd be stocking up on the S&B ammo you posted.

To the OP, if you're interested in any of the offers on the Norma ammo, I can vouch for it. I'm getting sub inch groups and it chronographs 2680 from my Tikka.

As noted above, plenty of 6.5x55 ammo and components available. Just not as cheap as they used to be. And in 5 years, more than likely, we will be lamenting for today's prices... Buy it and rock on...

Sporting Arms in Winterville, Ga. Has some they loaded, new brass with 129gr interlocks. They shoot extremely well in my No. 1. Cheaper than you will find online.

This is the best advice I have seen in a long, long time. Five years from now we may look back at Premium hunting ammo being "only" $50 box.

This how I’ve shopped for the last 3 years. If I think I may use it in the future, and the budget allows, I pick it up. Usually good trade bait if I can’t find what I need in The stores.
Anyway, I got completely out of the 308 game about 4 years ago. Every time I would see TAC powder however,I would scoop it up to feed my Grendels. Every time I saw LR primers, I scooped em up. Way more than I will ever use for my hunting rifles. So glad I bought the stuff that I did, because I ended up buying 2 Sako 308’s within a month of each other, and I have 5000 LR primers, and about 20 pounds of TAC lol. Bought bullets today, and I’m off and running.

This is good advice also!
Getting premium rifle ammunition has been nearly impossible except for the last 6 months. Make your own. F the stores.

EG: Survey question:
when was the last time you Federal or Nosler
7-08 ammo with a 140 partition? Great load for most rifles. I haven’t seen a box in 4 years at least.

Eurooptic.com has quality Lapua ammo. I buy the 136gr and 139gr Scenar loaded ammo and then have great brass for reloading. I have found this Lapua 136gr/139gr Scenar ammo shoots around 0.75 MOA out of my Ruger Hawkeye African.

Even if you don't reload, Lapua brass is always something you can sell here.

As an aside, there are numerous threads regarding Scenars on game.

Red River River Reloading has various 6.5x55 ammo. It's a bit spendy, but the Nosler Trophy Grade 140gr Accubond is good stuff.
