Saw this on X - made me realize that I can't believe it hasn't been done.
They need to do a movie on Master Sergeant Roy Benavidez.

I always thought that my favorite childhood books would make a nice family movie. Maybe you read it too? Curious George and the Electrified Fence.

How about a movie about a big city girl working as a high-powered lawyer, or as an editor for some prestigious rag. She inherits the family farm and has to leave work early on Friday to go back home to 'sign some papers" so the family legacy can be whored out on the open market.
While there, she runs into Clyde, a male supermodel with an Ivy League degree, that gave it all up to split firewood and clean horse stalls. He likes pina coladas and getting caught in the rain.
At first the interactions are awkward, each finding the other repulsive and annoying. Then magic happens when firewood guy reveals he's been caring for a band of wayward otters that somehow ended up living in his hottub. His descriptions of cleaning up after the fish feeding frenzies and charming smells of horse stalls and rotting fish carcasses reels the city girl right into his stable, where he shamelessly plugs up every hole she knew about and some she didn't.
She dumps skinny jeans guy back home and settles into Mayberry where she opens a fantasy book store specializing in romantic novels. He remodels the barn loft to include running water and a 4x6 veranda and they eventually wed under the barn lean-to, you know, because it rained that day. They laugh and fall in the pigpen embraced in a hot, passionate kiss.
The pigs find them and kill them. By morning, there's nothing left but clothing.

Blazing Saddles 2. Dave Chapelle as the sheriff, I'm not sure who would be good for Gene Wilders character. Maybe Bill Burr

Historically accurate retelling of Battle of the Bulge, and Normandy Landings. ( I read Ike got up and left almost as soon as “D-day” 1964 started!) It’ll probably never happen, not in todays Hollyweird. Reon

When much of the whaling fleet got caught in the ice off the coast of Alaska in the late 1800's, 1,000 men, women, and children? abandoned the ships and walked south, towing longboats for freight, shelter, and to cross leads, to be rescued by other ships just south of the icepack.
One guy deserted and spent the winter salvaging baleen and other stuff from the ships and caching it on shore. Apparently figuring on big profits when the ships came north the next year.
In the spring, the local Eskimos took it all away from him.
Put a cutie in there for banging, and a polar bear for danger, and you'd have a movie!

They need to make a porno movie about a Sports Illustrated editor that gets shipwrecked on an island with several plus size swimsuit models and he has to provide his sexual services to all of them!!!

Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, I guess the CGI is good enough now.

Id like to see a movie or series of movies about a spy. Make him British and give him really cool gadgets.
Also make him licensed to kill

I've always thought a movie about Jim Corbett's book Man Eaters of Kumaon. With special effects now they could make it pretty entertaining I would think. The story of Patterson's Tsavo lions, "Ghost and the Darkness" was a bit disappointing to me. They inserted too much Hollywood.

Fireball 2 definitely has possibilities in Hollywood. Were I not such an upstanding, ethical fellow, I'd just lift Fireball2's dynamite scenario and write the screenplay myself. But alas, not being a Democrat, I vowed long ago not to plagiarize another writer's work. Sounds, however, like it would make a super nova box office hit for Disney. L.W.

It's impossible to do an entertaining Civil War movie these days, but I always thought a movie about John Hunt Morgan's big raid up into Ohio and West Virginia would be good.
Another good one would be about Boone's escape and the siege of Boonesborough.

In all seriousness, I'd love for them (whomever "them" is) to make a 110% factual movie about Carlos Hathcock's time in the service. No Hollywood interpretation....just facts.
The movie "Sniper" supposedly draws from his experience but is such a joke I refuse to watch it.

A GOOD movie about Daniel Boone. But that will NEVER happen. And Simon Kenton. I'd like to see more Master and Commander Napoleonic sea battles. There's 19 more books to work off of. Probably too expensive needing a man of war or three.

Two that I wish would be made, but will never happen:
A movie about Nathan Bedford Forrest. No BS. Just show what really happened at Ft. Pillow and leave it at that. No need to embellish anything. The story and the action is all there. No clue who would play him.
A movie about Erwin Rommel, played by Ed Harris 20 years younger.

Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors, I guess the CGI is good enough now. That would be a fantastic movie if they concentrated on the people involved and didn't make it just about a bunch of ships running in and out of smokescreens firing guns and torpedoes at each other. No work of fiction can match the true level of bravery and self-sacrifice shown that day. Most audiences wouldn't know the first thing about it so it would need to be set up with the proper historical context and background to show why those men were in that position and fought as hard as they did. But done right it could be as good as Saving Private Ryan.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
