Like this pic and Cole the Cornstar on you tube there are many a farm with a goodly supply of metal scrap.
Equipment to load it, carry enough to make the haul a worthwhile/distance to market is an issue.
Equipment has to be available to be heavily used and yet "roadworthy".

Sad thing too, is the items of "scrap" that some would have a use for!
Steel spoke wheels is one example.

About 15 years ago, I cleaned up some of mine around the farm and made enough to go and buy a new Benelli SBE 2. Need to clean some more up I guess.

I miss having a scrap metal pile to pull from when I need a scrap of "this", or a length of "that" when I need to weld something.

It's kinda like having buckets of nuts and bolts around a farm or ranch.. When you need something, scrap saves a lot of trips into town. wink
