Ontario’s Solicitor General has notified the federal Liberals in writing that it will not fund the confiscation of banned firearms from licensed legal gun owners. It stated that this costly Liberal program will not lower gun violence in Ontario as illegal firearms are used in the majority of gun crimes.
Trudeau takes another kick from the provinces. Glad my province has entered the debate to support Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick and the Yukon in opposing the federal government on this issue.

Ford is about 2 years late with this. If he’d have gotten out in front, Bill C21 might never have been passed. Enough provinces tell Castreau No and they start to get cowardly.
But Ford has been sniffing Castreau’s farts too long. Only now he’s seeing the sea change and knows he has to pretend to be conservative again.

Nice --- I am optimistic that there will be more push back. Perhaps foolishly optimistic that this will make a difference but hopeful.

I get weary of Politico's waiting to see who is winning before they pick a side, Ford seems as though he is one of them.

Ford and his party needs to win the Toronto area ridings to remain the premiere of the province. Toronto in my opinion is most likely for greater gun control or support outright gun bans. I know the mayor, Olivia Chow, once long ago advocated for banning firearms in Toronto.
Ford is simply being a politician, bending with the winds of public opinions. This is the unfortunate reality for the legal gun owners in this province and country.

Ford would have had a much easier time opposing Castreau under John Tory. Chow is commie through and through and she’ll rile up the useful idiots.
He read the winds wrong.
