I put together a "long range" in 223 with a 7 twist Lilja barrel to reach to 1000yds. I initially put a Vortex Vipe HS 4-16x44 on it along with a 20MOA rail from Warne. No issues sighting it in at 100yds but I wanted a bit more magnification so I put on a Zeiss V4 6-24x50. I could not get the Zeiss reticle to be dead on at 100yds. The closest was about 15" high. I literally only changed the scope...same 30mm rings and Warne rail and the same loads! I verified the scope is turning the full 60MOA from bottomed out to the topped out. I never did this with the Vortex before I sold it. It is advertised as having 50 MOA of adjustment which is less than the Zeiss. I makes no sense to me. Why would this be???

Is it crazy that I am thinking about dumping the Zeiss and replacing it with an Athlon?

Sounds like it may be stopping on the zero stop to me. Take that little plastic piece out, that they call the zero stop bucket (I believe), and proceed to dial the scope down the rest of the way to get zeroed at 100. If that does not work, contact Zeiss, there is an issue with the scope.

That was it. Zeiss for whatever reason puts the Zero Stop in the middle of the elevation adjustment. It is all fixed and off to the range I go! Thank you!

Very good!! Good luck with that scope. They track very well. I just sold a V4 to one of my buddies, and he loves it.
