This topic has been discussed ad nauseam. I've attached a link to a google/24hourcampfire search feature that will go back as far as you care to (unlike the 1 year limit on the search feature here) - enter "Leupold CDS" and be prepared to read: https://cse.google.com/cse?cx=016407629494559605640:xponie3lspc

I have Leupold CDS scopes on 6 of my rifles. I had Leupold make a custom turret for my hunting load for my .300 Wby, but for all of the others, I zeroed them at 100 yds, then field tested zero hits at 200, 300, and 430 yds (the farthest berm at our range). I then pm the top of the turret, I paint a white dot at the 100 yd zero, then white slash marks at 200, 300, and 430 zeros. In the field or just when I'm practicing on the steel gongs at the range, I just dial the turret to the hash mark of the distance I'm shooting, and hit the target.

This thread has serious potential, I'm waiting for someone to post the stick quote about the tens of thousands of times he dialed a Leupy with zero issues.....

The Leupold 6x42mm,is my favorite Hunting glass. I have zero knowledge of the Weaver offering. I like this model due to it's coating,as you mentioned. Also,it is very rugged and light in weight. The glass is quite bright, has great eye-relief,and can be had with an elevation turret(major consideration, for me). The tube is of sufficient length,to allow max flexibility in mounting, not true of all scopes(Burris especially). I have faith in Weaver and dote on their T-series,but for a rugged duty Hunting scope, the Leupold 6x42mm is at the top of my list..........

Probably will post the repair sheet from the spotter he sent back with a destroyed main tube, and destroyed eyepiece and objective lenses and say how it puked. Riar Rarry's lies are even predictable

I also have Leupold 2.5-8x36 (VX3?) with CDS dial. Good for first round, cold bore hits on steal out to 370 yards with my primary .270 Win. I am not a gun-gamer, so, cannot speak to "dialing up and dialing down" thousands of times per day. But, for what I do (White tails in KY) it works as advertised.
