I’m looking to get around a 6-6.5lb 308 hunting rifle as my do all rig. Would like between an 18-20” threaded barrel. The new rifles coming out have me a little worried on functionality and am looking for a savage or tikka.. shoot me a pm if anyone has one of these or a good accurate functional rifle you are looking to get rid of or if you have one just laying around. Thanks for looking.

Not trying to hijack but I’m in the same boat. The Springfield redline 2020 in 16” 308 has really got my attention and feels great.

Look for a lightly used M7, dump the OEM stock and replace it with a good, lightweight one. The biggest draw back is lack of magazine space for longer bullets and/or proper seating for a specific jump to the lands. A 700 would be better and can still be made light but will be heavier than a M7.
I have a Rem600 in 7mm-08 that is my lightweight rifle. It is 5 1/2 all up and ready to go but it has the same restrictions as the M7.

There's a .308 Kimber Montana on here for sale. Hard to beat for a light weight rig. I like them so much I have 2 of them!

Savage has a ss lightweight and the carbon barreled Ultralite. My wife has a Savage lightweight in a walnut stock and a 20" pencil thin barrel. It weighs 6.5 lbs with a Burris FF2 3-9.
Christensen also makes the Mesa fft. Supposedly comes in at sub 6 lbs.

Thanks to those who responded to my inquiry. I got an excellent deal on gunbroker on a tikka t3 lite in 308 win. Going to send it to my local smith and have the barrel cut back to 20” and threaded now. Should be a nice compact lightweight hunting rig.
