I thought 6 of these to try before season but have been using the NO BS Extremes. I finally got around to putting a couple of the 650’s in the ground Sunday. Had this big male waiting for me Thursday morning. This was a remake in a dirt hole set I pulled back in December. First impressions, The trap beds very well but takes a lot of waxed dirt to cover. I clip the metal pan cover under the dog and it lays nice and flat. The coyotes foot was not quite touching the pan but still a full pad catch. With the cast jaws, No visible damage to the coyotes foot if one is trapping for the live market. I really like the trap and just ordered 2 dozen more when Midway had them on sale earlier with free shipping.

Nice! I've only had disappointments with Duke conibears. Lots of critters that were still alive. My belisles don't have that problem.

Ok I think I'd like those better than the MB because of the conventional levers and dog and pan system. A neighbor has 6 of the MB 650, and he has trouble depressing the levers/springs and getting the jaw retainer doo dads in place. He asked me to help one time, and it was tough for me as well. I can set my Bridgers and be done way faster, as well as the dukes I have.
Not looking to buy any anytime soon myself, but that's good information to know. Thanks for posting

Crappie I run MB 650 cast offsets, have you, and if so how would you compare the two?

Where's the duke 650 made? Unfortunately they are made in China, but to be honest that is who is buying the fur nowadays.

Osky My MB 650 (3) are not cast jaws, they have outside laminations. I have yet to put them into the ground as this is my first year trapping that I have specifically targeted coyotes and had 4 1/2 dozen NO BS extremes. The one above is the 15th I have caught within a mile of my house. I started as the neighbor has sheep and the coyotes got so thick they started coming into the yard to try and kill my 6 year old male lab. Game on MF I’m not a big fan of the MB650 dog/trigger system. Maybe if I spent more time with it I would feel more comfortable. The dukes are very easy to set, mine have required zero tuning out of the box. Some guys have complained of links in the chain not being welded, but I have not noticed this.

On a side note, caught 3 skunks today and a boar coon. I skinned two of the skunks and for the first time ever removed the essence from a skunk.
Wife is real proud of me. WOW

I have a few of the Duke 550 traps and they are plenty for me. While I haven't used a 650 I feel they are a little big and the biggie for me is, they are illegal in SC, for land sets, due their outside jaw spread of 6 7/8 inches and 6 1/8 inside jaw spread. Here's a 550 in action.

Luckily we don’t have a size restriction on foot holds. We do on coni type traps of 5” or less for land sets. So nothing larger than a 155 can be used on land unless 6’ off the ground.
Those last two, a trapping buddy gave me the feet off of a male coyote he caught on his line. I put one of them in the bottom of the hole and hit it with Gusto.
Both coyote had the foot out of the hole when I took them out of the trap.

I think it was 2 yrs ago. Robert Waddell set a goal too take 1000 coyotes in one season. I think he made it to 930+ coyotes. Thats not counting the coyotes with mange. The traps he used was Duke # 3 offset 4 coil. He done ok with duke traps.
