I got to handle a new CZ 550 in 6.5X55 the other day.
They have a redesigned stock.
BIG IMPROVMENT. at least to me. Its much more stream Lned. just a hint of a cheek piece.the checkering is very much like a sako with the gaps beetween the panels.
I could do without the CZ logo stamped on the grip cap.
This rifle was alot lighter and would be better in the woods than the 2 czs I sold.
But still more than I want to haull around in a 6.5 mauser.
If they chamber that style stock in a 7 mag or a 300. I am all over it. A 9.3X62 would cool too.
I still would rather just have a decent conventional trigger but I can live with the one CZ puts in.
The wood was real nice. I guess they are done in checoslovokia.
The new winchester will have some serious compatition from the CZ550s.

Are you talking about the "American" style stocks? They've been out for some time now. I didn't see anything on their website indicating they have gone with a new style.

The CZ 550 American stock is the one which has been lightened and redesigned. It and the other new offerings from CZ have yet to be incorporated into the company's website. Tom

This is all pretty interesting to me as I've got a CZ Swede on order and due to arrive in a week or so. I handled a 550 American in 30-6 and likewise was impressed with the action and stock work.

Got 5 or 6 (can't remember now) brands of factory ammo coming as well to try out and see if the reputation for out-of-box accuracy is the real deal.

I bet you will find your CZ quite acurate.
I had a Full stock 7X57 that was very acurate.
And a 550 american .243 that was too.
But in both cases i decided if I was going to carry an 8 LB rifle , it would be in a bigger cartridge.

Oh, I'm not really planning on keeping the CZ Swede... I hunt with a 30-06. It's just that this is the time of year when I futz around with rifles/calibers I always wanted to play with.

My thinking is when Spring rolls around my starving college student nephew will be over to scrape and paint my house. I might just hand him the CZ Swede along with the painting check since he's been borrowing a hunting rifle from me since I don't know when.

But then again, if it's a shooter, and I do like that CZ action, I may decide to just dip it in teflon and find a Bansner or McMillan stock to drop it in.... grin
