I found a damn near perfect Remington .280 Mt Rifle with the dbm mag. 2 mags actually.

The blueing is perfect, and the stick is close. It has a rock hard Remington recoil pad but also, the dreaded “wart.”

I can't say. I'd really need to handle it. Where is it located? I can give a better appraisal once I lay hands on it grin

Dad and brother have the same in 30-06 but stainless. Good rifles. Probably worth more than the guy paid for it new lol. 800's likely fair?

Thats about what I paid for mine new, $280. It was on sale plus a store policy of last one discount, ok with me. Sold it for $600 gently used a few years back.

I like how you roll!

I'd say 800 bucks is a fair deal on them. Extra mag sweetens the deal a bit as well.

Well they have it priced right then because that's what it's at. That extra mag has to be $50=/- on the used market. It has rings and bases too but not the right base.

I'd probably guess even more for the mag maybe. Haven't looked in awhile.

For 800 bucks, and if it is clean, I can't see you going too far wrong, it is a 280 afterall..

I would agree with you it would be in that ballpark. This has the DBM and the J-lock to bring the price down.

The wart is easily fixed tho. And DBM has never been an issue for us and frankly so many people are building rifles with DBMs these days - AICS and the like, you'd think the prejudice would disappear in price. Yes I am WELL aware the Rem DBM is not the same as an AICS but the worries are the same "what if it fell out and I didn't notice" as most typical.

280 is the best all around cartridge ever created.

I really miss my 700 KS 280. Something like it with an 8 twist is about the ideal rifle for me these days. I have a 22" criterion 8 twist sporter remage in 280 ai and I sometimes wish I would have just went plain 280. They just fit the mag box better and feed perfectly.

Testify!!

Purchased a 280 Mountain Rifle. Had a box of 150 CoreLokt’s & sat down at the bench to amuse myself and test the pencil barrel. I put 8 rounds downrange that I covered with a quarter, pretty much a single ragged hole. Couldn’t get on board with the little barrel though.

By the way, in case you missed it, Jeremiah was a bullfrog.
