I would say skunk, but that huge saggital crest throws me off. Google images "Opossum Skull." It has that crest.

Regular old fashioned doggie. Never saw a dog skull with that pronounced of a crest. Possum seems to be the closest I can find, but even most of the pics I find of those aren't that pronounced.

Best estimate here is canine - bigger than a red fox - smallish coyote or a dog.

RS I hadn't even thought about those, considering the size. And Florida, but I seem to remember an episode of Flipper or Miami Vice with a bear in it. Maybe a yearling cub? 80lb or so?

Possums do have 50 teeth and coyotes have 42. That would be a good way to tell. I'm counting 24 on that bottom jaw, so if the top is similar 48 is closer to 50 than 42.
My other auto is a .45

The possum/coyote gang is narrowing it down to my eye. Puzzle on one part is the leg bone looks a bit long for a possum. Other part is the skull resembles the possum pic below.
I am..........disturbed.

DD, is it possible the the skull and leg bone are not related to each other?
