trying to help a friend. Model 70 he's looking at has SN of G140613. Its a post-64 CRF Super Grade in 7mag. I haven't seen the rifle, but based on what he's telling me and what I remember, I'm thinking it is one of the very first CRF 70s that Winchester re-introduced. They made them in 7mag, .300WM and .338WM as I re-call. I am thinking its 91-92 ish DOM but can't find it on any websites. Any of you guys have that info? thanks

dan it's not one of the first CRF reintroduced, as you say. It is a 6 digit classic. The first ones were custom shop rifles with 4 digits, but the first CRF's introduced post 64 was in '92. Those had 5 digits following the G prefix. That 6 digit is more than likely made around '95. Akwolverine and others will be able to give you the exact year made.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

And edit your post so the entirety of your friend's SN isn't posted.

I was hoping you'd chime in. Seemed like an early serial # for a 6 digit. Hence the reason I said 95. I was thinking somewhere in that range though..

Looks to me like he posted a 6 digit classic serial #.

No problem. SN you provided is likely correct and it’s just a later (mid 90’s as opposed to early 90’s) gun. Will have supergrade style studs also. And … most likely the 26” barrel.
