I have a Marlin Glenfield 30A with the cheesy birch (or whatever it is) stock with the stamped engraving. I'm looking to change it out to plain walnut. Is Boyd's the only option these days? I assume a 336 buttstock and a 336 non-barrel band fore-end is all that is needed?

To each their own, I like them. It's a tool.

I have, or I should say that my wife has a Glenfield 30A. Someone did there best to make the stock look better, I’m not sure they did a good job. But that Glenfield is quite accurate. I have not looked into changing the stock as the stock would cost what the rifle did. There’s more stock makers out there than Boyds. I called a location in Missouri which I think Bishop stocks were made. The guy that answered the phone knew nothing about stocks. He couldn’t answer any questions. He ended the call by shouting into the phone that they made the best stocks available. That was a few years ago. Hopefully they have someone there that might know something. Browse the internet and make some calls. Let us know if you find someone that makes replacement stocks that you’re looking for.

I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

Did ya try Numrich/Gun Parts Corp for factory.
May ask around on the net, surprising how many may want to trade off walnut.

I would search ebay. Always seems to be a few sets on there. Precision Gunstocks offer them but I believe they're unfinished.
