I may consider trading for a rifle scope with a smaller objective

These are great little scopes, at least as good as the Leupold 6x36 and I actually like the Weaver better

I wish like hell Weaver still made them.

I wish like hell Weaver still made them. "Weaver" never made them. They were produced by Light Optical in Japan--the reason they were so good, including the click adjustments. Oh, I'll take it. PM sent....

I missed it. I was just thinking about how I used to have one of these on my model 7 walnut blued 6mm. I was wishing I hadn't sold the scope now that I've got the little 6mm out again and I'm getting it ready for my boys.
I like a fixed 6 on a starter rifle because it gives the kids a few less things to worry about. Twenty years ago I had maybeb3 of these and several 6x42 m8 leupolds. I went through a fixed 6 stage in the late 90s and early 2000s. Maybe I'll have to find a leupold 6x42 for the model 7.
These weavers are too hard to find. They've always been a good scope for the money. Clicks are on where leupolds weren't. I do like the huge forgiving eyebox on the m8 6x42. It's an easy scope for kids to get behind.
