ALL of Julia's books are well worth reading--not just the cookbooks but others. They describe the sense of adventure/curiosity that's involved in really good cooking....

My mother was born in France and as a kid I can remember her watching Julia's French cooking on Public Tv back in the early 70s during the middle of the day before I was in school . My mother was a very good cook, and I was a fat kid. lol
