I can’t think of a worse place to sell than walking around at a gun show. Vendors will give you low offers. They need to make a profit when they resell. As your gun is a left hander, the market is much smaller. Your chance of bumping into a buyer is low.
Pop the scope off and sell it in the classifieds here. Consider doing the same with the rifle. Lefty guns have good appeal and value, but only to a small segment of shooters.

^^^This.
You’d truly be lucky to get $500 for a LH 30-06 at a gun show.

Gun $900-$1,200 and scope $300-$400 Selling quick to slow. Always split the rifle/scope. This
It isn't energy that kills, its holes.

I bought a LH 80s model 700 BDL pristine 30-06 for my son for 500 5 years ago from a newspaper add. I bought the same rifle this week for $600, but I considered it a great deal for the current market.
They say everything happens for a reason. For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

They can just take longer to sell. To a lefty, they’re worth every penny and can be hard to find. A right hander doesn’t want one at all.

You would be better off selling the scope here. You will get screwed on it at a gun show. The rifle should get you around $600,but they will try to give you less than that, maybe $500 tops because it's left handed and they are gonna want to make at least a $100 off the resale. Here where I live, they won't even look at it if it's a 30-06.I guess too many pussies can't handle any recoil greater than a 6.5 Creed.
~Molɔ̀ːn Labé Skýla~ As Bob Hagel would say"You should not use a rifle that will kill an animal when everything goes right; you should use one that will do the job when everything goes wrong."Good words of wisdom...............

Headed to the 6Shooter gun show in Winston-Salem this Saturday and I'm looking to sell my lefty Remington 700LH BDL in .30-06. Timney trigger. New Zeiss Conquest 3-9x40 mounted on it. Not a safe queen but it's in really good used condition. Couple of bumps here and there. Clean bore.
Been out of the market for quite some time. What does something like this sell for these days?
Thanks I haven't been to that show in years. Worth going to or just typical junk?

Never been to one of that group's shows. I've mostly sold to individuals at gun shows. A dealer did pay me over retail on a Marlin 39A that I had at a show a couple of years ago. He must have had a buyer for it. If it doesn't bring what I want, no big deal. I may list it here but I'm not dealing with shipping or digital payments.

Hadn't thought about splitting them. That's a good option that I can offer. It is a USA assembled Carl Zeiss. Pretty sure that I still have the box for the scope. I removed the rear sights 40 yrs ago but the front sight and hood are still there. If I remove the scope, should I install the rear sights? Thanks That scope will bring $400.00 on most days, especially if you have the box. It is always better to sell separately. There are plenty of guys that would give you money pretty quick for that scope too. I would return the rifle back to factory, and install the sights. A left hand Rem 700 is probably pretty desirable to some as well. If it were me, I'd list the rifle on Gunbroker. Starting price of $1,000.00 and see where it goes from there. List the scope here, and it will sell pretty quickly, if it's in great condition. Walking around at a gunshow would be a waste of time. Good luck with it.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Thanks. I kept the rear sights. Just re-installed them. We'll give it a shot and see what happens. There's no urgency for me to sell and my optimal sale would be to a father/teenager that could get as much enjoyment out of it as I did with my dad when I was a teenager.

Gun show was a bust. Pretty small. Mostly junkers, tacticool stuff and pistols. I guess that I'll find out the real value soon. Off to Gunbroker she goes.

After the gunbroker fees you’re probably better off listing it here. You’ve nothing to loose.

or sell it locally on mewe.com. They have a lot of firearm friendly pages there. Should be some in your area.
