I just finished installing a set of the fiber optic dawson sights on my Kimber Ultra ten II.The functionality of the sights seems really good but the installation has some issues.The sights come with aluminum punches,one for the rear sight and one for the front sight and the issue is that the corners of those punches will keep "rounding off" has you hit them.Because it takes a fair amount of force to move the sights thru the dovetails you'll need to keep re-shaping the punch edges with a file.Maybe there is a better way,I don't know, Dawsons says not to use a sight removal tool

Their thoughts are fit the sights and let red loctite flow under it to keep them in.

Have you tried using a brass punch?

If it were me I’d be tempted to carefully use a sight pusher even if Dawsons says not to. Dawson ships them with extra fiber optics. If there’s any sign of the fiber optic cracking or the sight torquing go back to using a punch.

Yeah I have a set of brass punches but they're round ,not square and you need the flat surface area of a square punch to mate to the edge of the sight.I haven't seen any square punch sets for sale on the 'net.

Not sure I understand this. It's OK to use a hammer and punch, but a site pusher tool is too much? I've found that some drift sights come oversized and you need to take a few thousandths off using a whetstone or super fine file to install them.

I put a Novak FO on the front of my Kimber SS Target II in 10 mm.

I used a sight pusher. The original sight was as tough to remove as the Novak was to install. I had to apply pressure with the sight pusher then tap the pusher with a small ball peen, apply pressure again and repeat. Yes, it took me a bit of time. No need of Loctite to keep it in place.
