Can anyone else visualizing Schtick sitting in the front seat of the Family Truckster, peering over the dash, but thru the area below the steering wheel, cruising down the high way in one? He seems to be attracted to things that are " eye catching"... or gives him attention..... Larry with his sideways hairpiece from the wind from tha window ya π€£π€£

My college car was one of these. Same color but without the logo on the door.

John Wayne Woody Wagons? Those would have put this country in a better place than the Biden Shower Sessions....

We had a '57 Chevy wagon, in that horrible pinkish flamingo color - almost Crayola "flesh" tone. We boys always rode in the very rear, facing backwards. Thought that was great. It wasn't.

Was I the only one that would drop coins on edge out the back as we drove down the highway to watch them bounce?

Family had a station wagon until I was in the 3rd grade. Can remember a vacation out to west Texas. We'd stop for gasoline. The attendants would check oil, tires and add ice to the window air conditioner in the passenger side window. LOL! Helped some, but in the west Texas heat, 30 minutes down the road, the air was luke warm!
As kids, we spent most of our time in the back. Thought we were having a blast!

Dad ran his business out of a station wagon. His last one was a '75 Buick Estate Wagon with woodgrain side panels. It was the only thing he could find that would let him carry 2 lawnmowers around to his apartments without being a pickup. I got to use it for dates, etc. I could fit 11 of my friends in it.

Older Brother had a '49 Ford woody wagon that he got in a trade.
Would have sold it to me for $40. back about 1966. I wasn't 16 yet, so I passed on the deal.
Sure wish I had it now!

Funny to see this thread this morning...saw a guy pull into the parking area at the IDPA match yesterday driving a Chevy station wagon, probably an early to mid-70's (don't really know my Chevy wagons.) It was a big SOB though and I noted that it looked in great condition, not restored, car-show condition, but just great condition. The baby moon hub caps were the only outward dress-up, but when he went by I saw the dual exhausts and then heard the engine sound. It spoke very eloquently to my memories of such things as Isky cams and Carter AFB's.... A real stoplight sleeper.

Borrowed Mom and Dads β64 Ford Galaxy Woody Wagon for a date one night. Rode around for a bit then went to a secluded spot and put the backseat down you know βfor comfortβ left there to head home after my date. Forgot to put the seat back up and did I get questioned about why the backseat was down. Sure had a good time in that car ! That car was Extra Long

Used to call them station wagons. Kids hated them. They weren't cool. Changed the name to SUV and the high school parking lots are full of them. It's just good marketing.
