Just put my name on the list for a special run of a stainless and walnut 280AI. The rifle is a AH profile. I believe only 125 of those will be made. Stocks are supposedly going to have nice wood. There is also going to be a anniversary model in 270 iirc on the cartridge

Where might one find more info on these guns? I don’t see them listed on the Ruger website

I heard they were shown at shot. I found them listed online not sure where. The 270 was a 75th anniversary And the 280 is a special order I contacted Lee to get on the list

Lee Newton Here on the Fire as El_Numero_Uno I’ve been out of the loop here for awhile, but had been wondering if he was still active in the no.1 world. Glad to hear he is.

I'm not interested in the two coming out now, but there is supposed to be "more in the pipeline". Also, wondering what an MSRP is going to look like on those.

Damn. Wish I had scratched a few more itches in 2010-2012 or so… was picking up new for low $900’s. And had the means, and a ffl friend who would order what I wanted for a $20. Hindsight, ouch.

Did not know he is on this site. Deer I took this year was with a 6.5x55 full stock No. 1 I Bought from Lee. Really like that rifle, once I put a Jard trigger in it shoots well. RAS

For $2400 I hope they have a decent piece of wood.

If so how is it shooting? Maybe. The 280 AI from Lee shoots great. It may go hog hunting shortly. A month or so ago I found a #1 AH 25-06. I did not know the configuration so an email to Lee with the price and description. He replied "buy it". Lee says it's one of 30 or so (Lipseys second run?) with beautiful circassion wood. Neat configuration. I'll see him Saturday at the Kerrville gun show.

I would love a AH in 25/06. No doubt I would have bought it. I talked to lee recently and expressed that was one I would love to have. He said they are out there. Now if someone will let on go. I do not remember is your 280AI a A model?

The most recent #1 that I've had was IIRC a Lipsey's run in 22 Hornet. The action was case colored but not real attractive as it was done with cyanide vs bone charcoal but the wood was very nice.
