Looking for a sxs. Looking at can am commander and honda pioneer. Any other options you recommend. Be for elk hunting mostly.

I'm a Yamaha guy and 1000% my search for a SxS for hunting/light play would be the Rmax. Was planning on getting one next month but some plans have changed - moving that to next year. I have a wedding to pay for lol.

That said - it's a lot that Yamaha will go a 10 YEAR warranty on their belts.

I've a Kawasaki Mule 4010 that's been a real pleasure and work horse.

But if I was going to another SxS it would be a Kawasaki Mule Pro. Hunted out of one, and it far exceeded what I expected. They are flat nice and reliable. 5 yr warranty I believe.

I have a Pioneer 1000. Had a 700 before that, and a Big Red MUV before that. All have been boringly reliable, I see no reason to change.

Third Fudd. I was going to mention a 5-lb Spanish 20-ga like mine.

I was thinking double rifle for big game.

Anything game wise the sxs are too wide for where we roam. Ride on top Polaris 6 wheelers will go anywhere and haul a heck of a load. I can haul a whole moose out less the guts.

The Japanese brands are about 1/2 the HP of Polaris or Can Am. I run a Can Am Commander, my only complaint is it's loud. It has front and rear lockers, and I added a soft cab and heater. I also added a gun rack in the back with gun boots. It's nice in the winter running on snowy and icy roads. It has a small tilt bed, enough for a deer or 1/2 and elk.

Guess I am getting to old also was thinking fox,or browning or Smith. How ever considering the cost and size of offroad vehicles in question I would just look up a old jeep cj5 , nor much difference in the size and it's street legal.

Me as well. I prefer my LC Smith’s. 20 for quail, 16 or 12 for doves, ducks.

I bought the Honda Pioneer 750. Reliable so far but I've since discovered some drawbacks.

A little small for two adult hunters
Zero storage - I mounted a weather tight toolbox on the back
Limited places for gun racks
The tires they come with are junk

I like my Polaris Ranger 1000. It's good for basic play, but works well hauling deer, wood, people, etc. and for plowing the snow at our place - a 1/4 mile drive and around the house and pole barn. We've had it 3 years without any issues.
