Sometimes even a blind dog finds a bone:

A classic Leupold M8-6X AO, circa 1987

Thanks to you guys on the forum who touted this as one of the finest squirrel hunting scopes. This example appears so clean and unblemished it may not have been mounted on a rifle.

Cheers!

They don't make'm like that anymore (I mean literally!).
Let me know if you decide to sell it.

Nice. Bet it wasn’t cheap!

In the last year or so I’ve picked up two Burris Mini 6x in LN condition, an AO, and a regular. About $200 each.

Pappy,

I spent the same coin for this M8-6x as I paid for a mint Leupie M8 in 6x42mm that sits upon my pre 64 M70 FW 308 because I wanted the optics. About a $100 more than the MSRP catalog price in 1988, or half what a new FX 6x42mm sells for today. So go figure wink

Used Leupold scopes still get a premium here in Canada because of the lifetime warranty.

I'm just pleased to have it regardless. smile

Nice scope. It would look much better on my Winchester model 52, than it would your CZ.. just sayin. ha ha.. That gloss finish would contradict the matte finish of the new CZ...

No Cooper, Kimber or expensive Winchester. Just a plain Jane but very accurate BSA Supersport 5 that would do well with a compact Leupie:

All good. smile

That new scope will look great on that rifle. Looks like you will need slightly taller rings. I'd go with gloss rings, instead of the matte, to finish it off.. Nice rifle. I'll bet it shoots great. Those guys in England did a great job on rifles.

Nice find for sure. There was one for sale in the classifieds but don't recall asking price but it wasn't cheap. Looks nice on your rifle.

A buddy has a Leupold 4-12 x 40 Compact gloss scope on a .22 and it is about the best scope I've ever used on a 22 for ground squirrels and all around use. Actually, it is the first 4-12 Compact I've ever seen and I've been looking for one ever since I saw his and how perfectly it sits on his Kimber. I've been seeing a lot of the 3-9 Compact Leupies lately but the 6X seems to be pretty rare . Nice score...

My Tradewinds 311A and Winchester 320 both have old Bushnell ScopeChief 2.5-8x32s on them today. Maybe a little too big, but good optics for the era, just not quite the same aesthetic scale of a Leupold Alaskan.
