Long story short, my grandfather acquired 3 Springfields after the war. He built a 30-06 on a Star Receiver for himself, a .270 on a Pedersen Device receiver for my Dad, and a 25-06 on a Smith Corona receiver for my grandmother who occasionally accompanied them on hunts. When my grandparents passed, Dad sent the 25-06 to Garrett Accur-Light for a make-over. Garrett polished and blued the receiver, put on a 24" stainless barrel, and bedded to a Garrett fiberglass stock. I'm keeping the 30-06 and .270, but am considering selling the 25-06 to someone who can put it to good use. Weighs 7lbs 2oz as shown. Not sure where to start on pricing.
