Folks
I loaded up some of the above bullets for my No.1V 22-250. One load I used the 40s over 36.0 grains of Accurate 2520, the other load was with the 50s over 36.5 of Big Game.
Neither load produced any kind of group!!!
The 1v has the action bedded-the barrel bedded and free floated -a Canjar set trigger installed and tuned, all the work was performed by Penrod Precision.

If anyone is successfully running the 40s or 50s -please pass along any info you care to share. I've got several different powders available. Speed isn't important to me, but accuracy is very important!!

Thank you in advance for your time, help and consideration. Have a nice weekend.

What accuracy has the rifle produced with other bullet and powder combinations. Is there a performance baseline for the rifle?
Good luck,

Gents,
Thank you all for your help.
My 1V Does NOT like 40 grain Varmagdedons or BT!!
I tried about 8 different loads yesterday. ZILCH.
I have Nosler's both FB and BT in 50 weight. I'll have to try them.

Soup,

I haven't used my 22.250s in a couple of years, due to being busy with other endeavors during the last couple of varmint seasons, which is high volume shooting here in Oregon on sage rats. But when I use the 40 and 50 grain Varmaggeddons, my load is always with RL 7, 34 grains max with the 40s.. and 33.3 with the 50s.

All except one of my 22.250s have a one in 12 twist. I have one Ruger 77 Mk 2, that was a 243 rebarreled to a 22.250, that has a one in 7 twist, to use the heavy bullets... 75 and 80 & 88 grain Bullets. Haven't tried the 40s or 50s in that one, since I have 4 other rifles chambered in 22.250.

Don't know if that helps ya out, but RL 7 works just fine in the round, on my 4 rifles I use it in...
