I heard the exact same thing from the niece of the mechanic that rotates the tires for the landscape company that cuts the grass for Bob Uecker.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

And we didn't chew bubble gum.
That’s how it was where I grew up. Everybody raised it, chewed it, dipped it, smoked it, or snorted it. My elementary school had a smoking corner. Everybody! Tobacco was the official everything of Macon County, Tennessee.

I was on the Atlanta Braves ground crew, and at 9am every day I had to clean out the dugouts. Big League ballplayers and coaches chew Red Man tobacco, and lots of it. It makes a disgusting mess on that concrete floor.

Don't believe it was out in 60s. Watch the film Battered Basterds of Baseball, it was on netflix, its about the privately owned minor league team that was owned by kurt russell's father. They played against the real mlb minor league teams. One of their players invented it.

Had a Sunday school teacher actually tell us that bubble gum was made from rats. Apparently chewing it was one of the many, many sins that is listed in the Bible but only the holiest of us are capable of locating.

chewed it playing little league a bit, but mostly chewed bubblicious, since the factory that makes it, was right behind the diamonds. Core memories, hot summer nights when they were making grape bubblicious, could smell it as a left feilder. Chewed a couple truckloads of sunflower seeds back in those days as well, we thought we were big [bleep].

Not surprising since it didn't hit the market until 1980.
