I was just going to type that. The problem with our country is too many people believe what they are spoon fed. I remember back in Obama’s last few months I was watching Stewart Varney and he bashed one of the monthly jobs report as our new “terrible” normal when 230-240k jobs were added. 8 or 9 months later he lauded Trump and the 180k jobs created in one month. I thought to myself WTF, what a hypocrite. When you listen to both sides with an open mind, it’s becomes very clear who the liars and hypocrites are. Look in the mirror

I don't trust a single person that has ANYTHING to do with politics.

Personal independence and self-sufficiency seem to apply greatly when dealing with matters of trust. Giving trust is one of the very few truly independent actions in life. I have never seen trust as something that can be earned - it is purely the decision of the giver.
Our lives are chock full of decisions about trust - ranging from quite small (many) to the fundamentally/centrally critical (hope for just a few). Some foolish people seem very casual/shallow in this realm. Others may drive themselves (and some others) nuts with their constant application of deep, deep rigor and distrust. The ability to wisely assess the quality of assumptions seems to bring some saving grace to the endeavor.
There are some individuals in whom I invest great trust - primarily family members and chosen friends - partly due to experience and knowledge but more due to assessment of their character and assumptions based on their behavior. None of them earned a bit of trust - it is given and I am responsible for the outcomes.
Given accumulated evidence, how could any sensible person simply trust "government agencies" or the "media"? I have grown to give trust to a few "politicians" over time, but only after working with them, careful study of behavior and consistent outcomes. YMMV

We’ve not seen anything yet with enhanced AI and Deep Fake coming on strong and being more refined than presently.

I was reading an article (in Wired magazine I believe it was) that stated through the dark web millions upon millions of dollars have been extorted from high profile corporations and people.
The perpetrators were able to do this via AI and Deep Fake by taking pictures of individuals and their families off of social media sites and transposing those likenesses to exotic porn activities and threatening to go viral with the doctored videos.
From things like this no one should be surprised at what we might see as we move closer to election time and especially thereafter if Trump is elected to the presidency.
