Same day pictures. Training the dogs this morning about 15 minutes south of the house and then the snow started to roll in. Winds around 50Km supposed to stop snowing tomorrow around noon.

This has not been our typical winter. Very little snow and warm conditions. It is good to get a good dump of snow as the moisture is badly needed.

Quite the change in the course of the day. Snowblower action tomorrow

Its dry here too. Up in the bush where I am working, there is virtually, no snow, 3 weeks ago there was none, then it snowed 8" and it has almost all melted. There should be at least 2-3ft up there.

They are calling for a massive dump the next couple days, not sure,, but the fire season could be epic if its a dry spring and summer.
Either way, water is going to be an issue.

Lots of talk about pending drought with water rationing this summer. All across the west we do need a big dump in March, and rains in April and early May. God willing.

There was no snow here yesterday morning and I took this picture of our first Lake arrival at 10:00 AM, which is pretty early for geese to show up. They typically arrive in mid-March.

After I took the picture we got hammered and there are 2-3 feet snow drifts in my driveway.

I feel bad for the Goose!

Here in Southern NB, I've only used the blower to clear the driveway twice so far this winter.

HughW: we had more than a skiff hard to say how because of a wee bit of drifting.

Got 3", in under 2 hours, this morning !!

Couple more tonight.

That'll make about 7-8", total inches of ground coverage.

Normal for this time would be 3-4 feet !

Guessing we got a little over 10”. Hard to tell with the heavy drifting. We could not get out of the garage as there was a drift about 4’ high going back about 6 ‘ and then wrapped around into the lane. Snowblower got a good work out.

Forecast is more snow later in the week but this being Alberta that could change by tomorrow.

Sure looks like winter now.

Yep, I live just outside Medicine Hat. Dry doesn't come close to describing our situation. We are desperate for any moisture. Unfortunately, all we got today was a dusting.
Most of it just blew away instead of staying around. If we don't get plenty of snow or rain by the end of April, we will be in serious trouble.

Update...now there is too much snow lol.

In my post above I elude to not much snow, and the chance of a good dump the next few days. In the bush where I am working it went from virtually zero snow saturday to about 16" today. Put on one set of chains, got stuck, should of put two sets on, had to shovel out.

Now they are saying its going to snow till thursday lol.

Evening sir, I hope you're warm, well and dry in that case!

We're getting some snow down here too, which isn't super timely as I'm helping a buddy move some furniture tomorrow.

Ah well, we'll get it done one way or another and we need the snow down here too.

All the best.

Dwayne
