Nobody. At bare minimum, EVERYONE puts a spin on things. Most are lying, some just don't know they are lying. The best I can figure is to listen to a good cross-section of sources to see what topics come up, then look into several sources that come from different directions to try to get a sense of where the truth lies. It is not foolproof.

I guess making and keeping friends like that isn't near as important as it used to be.

My wife, three sons and two dogs. I'll even throw in the cat. Siblings have been tossed and my folks as well as my IL's are dead. Pretty simple.

Well Barry, that made me think of something I've wondered about for a few years.

Our "local" State and Fed representative elections always seem to have "family farmers" running for office.

How big does an operation have to get before it no longer qualifies as a "family farm" ? A certain number of acres? A certain number of paid employees? When they become an LLC to protect the "family" from liability? If the old man (or the old woman as the case may be) goes to Congress or the State House to work and the farm is then under the direction of a paid farm manager?

Along those lines, is the Trump business a family Hotel and RE operation?

Are the Murdoch News outlets a "Family Media company"?

You may be able to tell I trust no one when it comes to the words they use.

I do not trust my doctor at all. Change coming. Our problem as Americans is worse for us Texas brats with so much heroic cub scout indoctrination. We believe the bul [bleep] that we matter and we can by God save this mission. It’s ridiculous. I trust entropy. Things fall apart. The money changers die when the temple falls in on them. Good only triumphs when evil destroys itself by arrogance, inhumanity and greed. It might not be dramatic when their mendacity eventually fails.
