So I have decided to go the suppressor route.
I primarily shoot .284 and .308. 7mm-08, 280r, 308w, and 300wm. I would love to buy one suppressor for the bunch but I don't know if that is the best idea and I am not up on the technology. I do know ai want it to be as compact as I can get as these are hunting rifles. At a minimum I would like to suppress the 308 (Montana) and 300 (m70).
Thoughts? I am dumber than duckchit with regards to suppressors. I do understand threading needs, adapters, etc.

Yes,get a 30 cal can for all of them . I’m impressed with my Rugged Obsidian for pistols. If I was looking for another rifle can, I’d check them out.

Rugged Alaskan 360 or if you don’t mind dishing out some coin an Alaskan 360 Ti.
You ain't about that life.

I went the suppressor route in 2015, with the same thought, buy one to cover several rifles and keep the suppressor light and short.
Like said, go 30 cal and make it titanium.
Your gunsmith is going to be busy cutting and threading barrels for you.

I have the dead air nomad L. If I were to do it again I would get the titanium version. It is quiet and would handle all of the calibers you mentioned but heavy. I was told by one of the LGS that stamps are being approved in weeks not months. That being said going to drop some coin on the Rugged Alaskan 360TI this week and a dead air mask or rugged obsidian. Go ahead and get a .22 can while you wait.
Go ahead and do it you will not regret it.

Without knowing your budget, I will recommend what looks to be a great value can right now. The Diligent Defense Enticer. It has a number of combinations that can let you choose what’s most important to you. The factors to consider are length/weight, suppression desired and cost. Given the calibers listed, I’m going to assume you aren’t concerned with a high rate of fire.
From here, you are choosing between length/weight and suppression. Higher volume inside the can, better suppression. However, requires more material and therefore weight for volume. More exotic materials like titanium allow you to adjust that comparison through higher cost.
Maybe if you give some parameters as to what you are looking for out of a can it would help narrow down choices for you.

I have a SilencerCo Harvester 300. I love it; good sound suppression and recoil reduction. I also have a Deadair Nomad Ti. Love it too. If the SilencerCo Scythe Ti had been around when I bought the first two, I would have gone with it twice. It is short, light and from the reviews I’ve read, does a great job.
I’ve had the two I own on 6.5 PRCs and a .270. I have a new 7PRC that will get shot with both this weekend. I’m guessing that I’ll like the harvester on it due to what I perceive to be better recoil reduction. I’ve held off shortening and threading my 7 WSM Kimber Montana because I love it as is. But I’ll probably have it chopped and threaded at 18-20” soon.
The Harvester is skinny and long. The length sucks some of the fun out of it but I still love hunting with it. My son uses the Nomad; it’s shorter and handier. I think the Scythe will combine the best of both.

I like the notion of the Scythe for a general purpose Ti hunting can these days. Shaves another 4-5oz off of a comparable steel can. Will balance a hunting rifle better.

No 1st hand experience, but the Harvester Evo gets a lot of praise and can be found for a pretty decent price. Of course when I was just going to make the jump, I couldn't find one.
I've got a TBAC Gen 2 7" direct thread in jail at the moment, ended up finding one for 899.99. At the same time I was comparing it to a Nomad Ti which also gets very good reviews but I liked the looks for the TBAC a bit better. Nomad was on sale for 750.00, would have liked to have the extra coin and just buy both at the same time.
Good luck....

I have a few in .30 and .338 from different companies. The one I’m most impressed with so far is the AB Raptor 10. With the reflex it makes my 300wyb seem like a 22lr. I went down the road in the beginning of Qd types with taper mounts on host rifles. Then switched to direct thread and never looked back.
Once you get one you’ll want more. I suggest to people they bite the bullet and get one for their big rifle and get a .22 for fun. Once you go suppressed there’s no going back, they make it more enjoyable from the noise level and on the shoulder. The recoil reduction on the magnum calibers running a can is very noticeable.

The recoil reduction that a suppressor offers, essentially on the bigger boomers, was a pleasant but unexpected surprise. I’m going to add the .458 Bravo brake front cap to my SilencerCo Hybrid since I plan to use it on my 338’s and larger rifles. I’ll be interested in how much more recoil reduction it provides.
A suppressor on larger centerfire rifles offers a lot of advantages and after 1 shot I was convinced! When you touch off a 20” .338wm or a full house 35 Whelen with 250’s or 280’s and it’s similar to a 22mag in recoil and even less muzzle blast it can be addictive….so much so that I have a lot of barrels that are fixing to be threaded. 👍🏼

I started the .30 cal can life with a SilencerCo Omega 300 and Thunder beast ultra 7. Awesome cans for years until I wanted something lighter and shorter that actually didn’t impede my hunting setups. I ended up getting a Banish Backountry for that void and I’ve been impressed. I’m sure there are other cans with similar specs, but I thought I’d try silencer central for convenience . Not disappointed in performance.

If the SilencerCo Scythe Ti had been around when I bought the first two, I would have gone with it twice. That's likely my next choice if for nothing other than curiosity. An FYI for those that may have missed it – SilencerCo discontinued the Harvester EVO.

I have an Omega 300. Good can, but I don't know what a dtm is...... If it means direct thread, that's the way I roll.

I was going to go with scythe ti but went with AB raptor 8 stack which was recommended to me over the scythe ti from someone who has both.
I too wanted one supressor for everything this is my 3rd and wish I could redo the first one to be more specific.

I am looking hard at the TBAC Gen 2 7" direct thread and the Rugged TI If you’re looking the TBAC Ultra 7 route, don’t over look the Dominus. Touch shorter, more volume (circumference) and has a much better, duller tone than the Ultras and Nomads I have.

Harvester EVO, WTH? First a recall and now discontinued? I have one in jail, it was the last one my local dealer had in stock. Was thinking about getting another one and this deal is very tempting. https://freedom-weapons.com/silencerco-harvester-evo-300-30-caliber-7-62mm/

PINEKNOT, that's a smokin' deal.
For someone looking for a one-and-done suppressor, I'd recommend buying one that has interchangeable thread mounts (for direct thread). Likely just personal preference, but I'd not want to limit myself to a dedicated thread pitch or be at the mercy of a key mount/adapter.

I just put a Rugged Alaska 360ti in ATF jail...figure I'd just buy once, cry once and be done with it. I needed the option of something a touch larger to run on a .350 legend for the midwest...

Checkout Pew Science rankings, basically the only good place to get objective information.
Ultimately you have to decide what the longest length / heaviest weight you are willing to accept is. Unlike rifles you cannot reasonably buy/sell/trade suppressors, so it should be approached considerably more so than any other firearm related purchase with a buy once / cry once mentality.
I have the CZ equivalent of an AB Raptor 6 and a Nomad TI. I will probably sell the CZ, it just does not come close to the Nomad. If I were to buy another 30 Cal can I would not consider anything scoring lower than the Nomad TI (6.5" length / 9.6 oz). Most likely it would be a Hyperion (#1 scorer overall) or the Diligent Defense Enticer L-TI. Those cans both exceed 8". The Scythe is intriguing since people claim it is quieter than the Nomad TI and it is slightly shorter and lighter.

I have a silencerco back country in purgatory now with fingers crossed that the mythical wait time will strike me.
I am hoping the backcountry works on my 300wsm Winchester but my rifle as a little on the far girl side already.
A couple comments have been made about thread pitch- direct or adapters. If going direct is there a logic to which size threads?

Some Bbls don't have enough Diameter at the muzzle to cut a 5/8" thread and some cartridges you do not want to or can't cut the muzzle to 1/2", I have the Harvester 300 and have direct thread mounts for both 1/2 and 5/8...........

Is a 30 cal too large of diameter to work with the 1/2x28 threads? I am trying to decide whether to thread everything at 1/2 or go 5/8 but use an adapter down to 1/2. Is that an option?

No, 30 cal isn't too large for 1/2x28 - maybe not ideal but I'm pretty sure Kimber is doing it. I'd just be danged certain I was working with a competent metal person to align the bore to perfection, then the thread work.

I got the suppressor through silencercentral and they offer barrel threading. I might have them do any pencil barrels in order to avoid finger pointing between businesses.
Thanks for the info.

I saw that too and bought one from Freedom Weapons, my local dealer received and replied to the FW document request so it should be in town in a week or two so I can pay the stamp and begin paperwork. I have three EVOs, this will be #4. They are affordable, short, light enough and work well. My local GS where I bought the previous three didn't have one, couldn't get one, but someone on another forum sent me the same link. Bought one for step son also (will be sent to his local GS for stamp and paperwork).

Harvester is good but I like the Hybrid 46. I have 458 SOCOM and others. But the AB Raptor looks to be my next in .375. Then it will go on 375 Ouch & Ouch, 358s, 9.3, 308 ....... RZ.

Put an Otter Creek Hydrogen and another Mask in jail today. You’ll not regret it Don… I just put my Otter Creek Polonium on my 22 GT it’s like they were designed for each other. Ordered the Polonium and a 6.5 Rex Silentium MG7 the same day, the Otter Creek cleared in 4.5 months the Rex is still in jail…. 🫣
