You folks in Pampa and Canadian hunker down. Pretty bad stuff happening. Prayers you have towns by daylight. 50+ mph winds 270,000+ acres, less than 2 days old and zero containment....

God Speed and you firefighters be safe. Crazy videos circulating....

It's awful. We have some fires out of hand in western OK too. Small towns being evacuated. Firefighters are among the most selfless people on earth.

I think it's an all hands on deck from all states kinda deal. Winds blowing 60 have gone from west to out of north. Canadian, TX may be saved but Pampa is in direct path...

I am in Amarillo and we have serious haze and smoke blowing down from the fire. I hunt mulies over by Lake Meredith, not sure of my hunting areas will be hit or not. Gonna get a lot worse before it dies down.

Just talked to my buddy in Canadian, actually all of Canadian evacuated and he is at his daughter's place in Canyon. He said he personally knows of 30-40 people who lost their homes, and many businesses got scorched. He fears he lost his small (100 head) herd of cattle as well but won't know until tommorrow. They definitely need some prayers up there.

I’m setting here on Ranch, 10 miles from the Canadian river fire right now, sky was black at 4:00 this afternoon, we were called by sheriff to evacuate at three, but my 93 year old Dad said bring him back to place, so we came back, hard to breathe in trucks so I setting it out in my house, his is 300 yards away, can’t leave him, wind straight out of North now at 30 mph, dropped 40 degrees in 10 minutes. I think it will be a long night.

Scanner said a fire north of buddy, he is 3/4 mile south of me, I drove trying to find fire, county is red and blue lights, didn’t see any red glow, drove by his place 20 fire trucks had just put it out, it was right next to Cactus drilling rig that is fracking, they don’t shut down for nothing, guess why so many trucks. I’m 45 miles from Canadian, a lot of friends there, oil town.

Evening sir, sorry to read of this.

As someone who has become all too familiar with wildfires and interface fires over the past 21 years, please know you all are in my prayers tonight.

Stay safe sir.

Dwayne

Our SIL flies a tanker fighting fires. I haven't heard if they're being called up for this one yet.

Appreciate, this country here , Ok. And Tex. Has been hit hard last five years, a lot of men have died rounding up cattle and horses in these fires, young girl friends with them too, so sad, I saw trucks and stock trailer full this afternoon, moving stock, we lost guy that grades my country road, burned up in grader. 90 degrees today, 60 mph winds, 12 percent humidity, happens every year.

Close to 400,000 acres total now, according to the wildfire tracker.

Lots of everything is impacted.

Most of the LATS and VLATS aren't even on contract yet and most are either preparing for inspections or are in phased heavy maintenance this time of year. It seems like the "Off Season" just gets shorter and shorter each year.

Was sure hoping it started with a south wind and the north wind would turn it into the black. Now read it was west when started and out of north now. Thats gotta help a bit at least but not what I was hoping. Have seen 180 wind changes turn the tide.

Prayers to all. Fires are tough. Kind of glad I dont' have to fight them anymore.

The land between Amarillo and Dumas already looks the sand dunes are taking over due to fires about 5 or so years ago.
