Anyone use these? Did it save your butt in an accident or other event? Toying with the idea of getting one.
Any input appreciated.

This one has good reviews....

I don't use one. They're becoming more and more popular tho in my industry. Saving carriers millions in accident claims about just who did what.

The 2014 Blake v Werner wreck and consequences after is going to open a PILE of eyes in trucking to why you need them because even when you're right, you still get smoked. Many feel that actual film would help prevent that from happening.

That said maybe 5 years ago - my dad got in a wreck. Totaled his car and shocked he walked away from it. Other vehicle had forward facing dash cam showing they were in the wrong (roundabout issue) and made settling with the company that owned the truck rather easy. Like in a week. They simply bought him a new car.

We have them in our RV, trucks, and my wife's car. Mainly put them in my RV and trucks because we tow a lot. Wanted to have some form of defense if some moron pulls out in front of us or brake checks us. Have it in my wife's SUV for the same reason.

We use the Garmin Dash Cam Mini 2 in all of them.

I am a big fan. I sure wish I had one five years ago when I was in an accident, as it would have clearly shown fault. The one I have has front and rear cameras. mounted to the right of the rear view mirror. I have it set where the screen blacks out within 3 seconds, so that it doesnt divert my attention.

Thanks guys. I've had Garmin GPS units in the past, and really like them, but having the backup camera is a nice feature to have.
