After seven years at the helm of the GOP, Ronna McDaniel will step down from her post as chair of the Republican National Committee on March 8, she said in a statement obtained by ABC News. McDaniel's resignation is expected to take effect after Super Tuesday on March 5.

The RNC is not in business of helping candidates get elected, the RNC was created to make money, to campaign for financial contributions from both private citizens and big money lobbyists .

That money is then distributed to candidates that are Establishment approved even if they are Democrats. The RNC may collect the contributions, but it is the Republican Leadership (McConnell) that dictates where it is spent.
McRomney may be gone, but the Establishment still controls the funds.
