Just finished first load workup with 245 Berger LRHT and N570, with only 5 shots E.S. 6 at 2901 fps average, just put three in .420" with a 5-7 mph wind out of the S/SE firing dew North, COL at 3.815" at 0.020" off, plenty of room to tweak, 73 MOA elevation left.
Pierce Shadow action 9 twist proof 26" ADG brass and CCI-250
Will make a fairly hard hitter.

Nice set up buddy. Should hit like a sledge hammer. Keep us posted, if you stretch its legs out. I don't normally load Bergers, but was messing with some myself yesterday, in a new to me Sako. I like the looks of your rifle. Thanks for posting!!

Thanks buddy BSA, will do, i know the rifle/load is there, my bench is a wreck, damn red bull busted it again, have sawed off and reattached the legs on that sombitch twice already, a good sturdy bench with better front rest and rear bag would show true potential, i could see all the movement yestrerday trying to break good triggers.
Bought that rifle as a Christmas present to myself late December 22, turnkey package from Tucker65 here at the forum, he builds a hell of a rifle, wanted to hedge my bets by using the heaviest bullet i could fire, not much experience with 'bomb' bullets on game, and NONE on heavy game, hope the extra weight will give odd angle penetration if needed, 230 ATips at 2940 done a great job on four deer last fall from 309 to 536 yards, it's a fun rig nonetheless.

You could take down that Chinese balloon with those loads. That’s a lot of down range energy.

Nice. Well if you shoot that big red bull with that rifle post a video here. it might just take it clean off its feet!!!

Gunner…. I always enjoy seeing your posts! I don’t have a 300 PRC and probably never will but anything you post is worth my time reading. I know this is not germane to the conversation but I felt compelled to let you know.
All my best to you my friend. 👍🏼

Will make a fairly hard hitter. Very nice. Be interesting to see what N570 does to your barrel. dave

I wanted a 300PRC awful bad. But I've decided that I'm to big of pussy to shoot 1 accurately in a hunting weight rifle. I went with the 7PRC in 180gr Hornadys. It'll do what I need. I have some Bergers that are 195 or 197 I might try.
I even have some 30cal, 230gr Bergers. I sat there and stared at them 1 day thinking, my God that's a long bullet. Pulled out a 223 round with 55gr bullet. About the same length, about the same weight. I bet that 245gr is the same weight.
Like shooting an Elk with the entire 223 round.

Thanks Big B, i'll run it to 900 in calmer winds and see where they land, waiting out the weather will give me time to get up there and put on a fresh coat of paint.
LOL navlav8r, i'd prefer to let the air out of that from above it ; ]
No telling BSA, 10% for the big guy, only thing big about that mush head is his rap sheet and diaper bill! that damn red bull already put me up on a tractor with a big coffee can full of sweet feed for the horse, i yanked old G21 with 200gr Lehigh penetrators and told him to be nice, one of those in the forehead and i would have had to call the butcher.
Thanks Aces old buddy, good to read you too my friend.
dave7mm, rifle had 30 rounds on it when i got it, 20 loaded rounds with n570 and 230's came with the 50 count box of ADG brass, i pulled those, bought another box of brass and loaded 80 rounds of 230 ATips for deer, i knew they were softer, also knew i'd never use them for heavy game, shot mexican buzzards and coyotes on through last years calving season then 4 deer this season, round count on rifle now is 115, loaded the rest of the brass with load mentioned above today, will get it busting center at 100 then JBM a dope chart. Thought was, the 215's at 3000 and 230's at 2940, if i could get an accurate 2900 with the 245's they's pass either before 500 yards and buck the wind better the whole way, plus give a little more penetration for odd angles, i use BoreTech Eliminatoe for carbon and Wipeout foam for the rest, i'll keep it clean and wont over heat, it's a hunting rifle, i have smaller rounds for trigger time.
LJBass, no flies on the 7 PRC for sure, this rifle came with a very nice Salmon River 10 port titanium brake, unscrewed it and had Tucker65 cut a thread protector, never fired it with brake, i imagine the blast would be horrendous, i'll save it for new owner should i ever sell, this rifle kicks about like my 340 WBY in Brown syn stock firing 250 LRX at 2930 or 300gr Scenars at 2700 over IMR-4350, they both sit at 3.700 COL in that rifle.
Yes, navlav8r, aint that the truth, everyone gets shot with a Glock or AR-15, the rest die from kung-flu! ; ]

Just to much of a good thing for me Gunner. My threshold is 190s in a 7mag, or 270s in a 375-06... I mean it varies from gun to gun. Like that 375 has a steel buttplate and red dot, so it's light. I don't even like 300 Weatherby.
Anyways, that'll make a hell of a nice long range rig. I believe hornadys joke on thier podcast is "intercontinental missle"

I haven't tried the 245's but I have ran the 230 and 250 A-tips in my 9 twist PRC and Win Mags and both did very well. I haven't gotten the chance to see how they perform on game, but I'm hopeful to at some point this year. I know they will at least hit hard!

Rebel, the 230 ATips at 2930 wrecked the hell out of four deer this past December, HUGE exits, keep em in the ribcage, iirc shots from 309 to 556 yards, did get my gong painted, but damn the high winds and rain, ready to try and see what the 245's do at 900.

I’m firmly in the Berger 230 hybrid camp for my 300 Norma Improved.
