Interesting. Looks like the seller has been a member for nearly 10 years and has done business in the past. I wonder if his profile was hacked? It’s been happening a lot on gunbroker lately… Too bad

That is my guess. I don’t think it is the member trying to scam anyone. I think his account has been hacked. It is an organized scheme.

Phone #? I'd ask for pic of reticle with firedot lit. Most scammers work thru e mail only. Also if not hd model price is still little high imo.

The phone number was on the ad from the other site back in January. That site showed the OP living in TX. The listing on here shows the OP living in Oregon. Not that it matters but it is the HD model.

Ask them to do a Facetime call where you can see the product... if they refuse, no business

He may be a long time member but it looks like he’s never sold anything here. His posts jump two years at a time where there’s no posts

I appreciate the diligence. To be honest, I’m probably too trusting, and not so adept at spying the scams.
I hate to say it, but the worse the economy gets, the more scams that are out there. Ought to be treated like horse thieves and hung.

Dadgummit! That yellow note being photo-shopped beside that box would have fooled me. Teaches me to make sure the box is moved slightly on the counter when the note is placed for pic. But hell, that means nothing if the guy actually has the item and sells it by PM to two or more different members. That's scary! Even though I see some members try to stay anonymous when purchasing an item it makes good sense to publicly post an "I'll take it!"

And taking his scam photos off 2cool as well. I’ve been a member on there for years.
Very tricky indeed with the photoshopped picture.

I hate to say it, but the worse the economy gets, the more scams that are out there. Ought to be treated like horse thieves and hung. Gonna have to disagree a bit with the root cause. The more the MORAL FIBER OF OUR SOCIETY DECAYS, the more scams that are out there. And that decay has been happening fast the last few years. There have been plenty of times over our history when the economy got bad - the rise of immoral behavior is (IMO) a new feature. Thanks to the OP for the heads up. Rex
