I am just curious and have long wanted to know.
On Mauser style rifle receivers there are lead in angled surfaces machined at the start of the lug wells to facilitate the bolt lugs staring into the lug wells. My question is how those angled surfaces were machined in?

If you know how this machining was done in the factories and for that matter today by anyone building actions I am just curious to know. What was the operation, what did the tooling and/or machines look like, are there any reference sources that you know of concerning this.

I will appreciate any help you may be able to offer. And no I am not going to make actions.
