Posted this in the gunsmithing section yesterday but didn't get any responses. I'm looking at a used stock that's bedded for a Defiance Tenacity action. I'm wanting to drop a Remington 700 s/a in it. Are they compatible?

They look to be a 700 Clone Action. Looks like they were available in Short Action as well as Long Action. The thing you need to look at is the Magazine Area. They came made for a Hinged Floor Plate as well as the AICS Magazine. The Stock could be inlayed for either one.

They are not a exact clone. The bolt handle on the Defiance is straight as opposed to the angled handle on the Remington. The bolt handle notch in the stock will have to be extended to the rear to get the Remington action in it. It will have a rather unsightly gap in front of the bolt handle. The bolt release on the Defiance is at the top line of the stock and the stock will have to be cut to accept that as well. It can be made to work, but it won't be perfect.

I put a SA tenacity in a Rem SA stock and it fit great just bedded it like any other.
