Ruger has the gen II predator on their site. Why would they put different twist rates on the 6creed and the 243?

The 6 mm Creed case is better suited for modern longer bullets, which require a faster twist rate.

The 7.7 twist for the Creed is a bit short of the SAAMI spec 7.5, a bit odd. They have produced .243s with that twist; I had a 1V so equipped. 1-9 is fine for any .243 factory load, but it seems a bit silly to hobble it like that when they already make the barrels with 1-7.7”. Have no idea about their magazine length and if you can seat bullets out a bit.

The notions and prejudices of those involved in design and manufacturing everything show up in the products they make. ‘Twas ever thus….

But why handicap the 243, both use AI mags, rugers throats are usually long and at one time they put the fast twist on their 243's. The 9 twist wont stabalize the Hornady 108eldm. Seems they would sell more with the faster twist to me.

It would also be cheaper and more efficient to make one ROT in their 0.243" bore American Rifle barrels.

Remington did that with the 243 and 6mm when the 6mm was introduced with a 1-9" ROT barrel.
