I have a bunch of them, but this one my dad bought new in 1969 down at the hardware store in town that isn't there anymore. Squirrel Season is just around the corner and coming in hot.

I have an old 39 Mountie made in 1964. The finish is shot, it's the ugly duckling of my safe. I bought it because i got it for $105.00 OTD. I haven't shot it yet, but I took it apart and detail cleaned it. I'm sure it will perform because it has a beautiful bore.

Here's mine, a Mountie from 1958. Got it recently, added a Skinner peep sight. I haven't taken shot it over sandbags at targets yet, but kneeling at 50yds, it consistently hits a 1.5" spinner. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Squirrels in the snow, that's cool. Around here if the temps drop to freezing the dang things go hide in a nest, snow or no snow, and don't come back out until July. Lol.

A Marlin Model 39 ought to be a mandatory gift at age 12.

They are just the nicest, funnest .22 rifles.

I really like Skinner sights. Had to put the high Skinner front post on my BL 22, used sight paint, green over white, and it sure is fun to shoot. It has accounted for enough dirt clods to fill a freezer.

I have a 1960 Golden Mountie that I bought at auction sight unseen. When it arrived I was a little deflated as it had a floppy lever syndrome. Fortunately, with some cleaning and minor adjustments, it worked perfectly. These rifles have a well deserved reputation for accuracy and smooth operation.

As luck would have it, years ago I went through a phase of buying older Lyman and Redfield peep sights on eBay. That was when people would still ship to Oz. I’d forgotten about it but I had bought an old Redfield that has the same hole spacing as the Mountie. Sometimes you can get lucky.

I like this one, a .22 with Fajen stock, trigger stop that I crafted and a great trigger.

The scope elevation is set up for Fed Game Shok ammo.

I picked up a nice 39 Century Limited last year in a pawn shop for $700 but my favorite 22 Marlin is a stainless Papoose that I had threaded for a suppressor.
