It is the first rifle I ever refinished and I did a lot of research on waxes, I went with Renaissance Wax as well. I put 6 coats on mine to waterproof it as much as possible. Nice wood, cut checkering on dependable guns a working man could afford in the day,,,,, good times. Have done many searches over the last 10 years for an SC1100 in 12ga. Found a couple SD, but they're getting past my pay grade. Anybody have an 870 competition trap? Single shot, gas bleed, pump. I can't remember the whole story, but interesting guns.
