He made the smart choice. His sole job was to rule on the conflict. It’s someone else’s job to sanction them.
It puts them in the position of a tainted prosecution with a corrupt DA, or a crappy prosecution with a corrupt, inexperienced prosecutor.
He did say he didn’t believe either of their testimony. That will factor into an appeal if there is a conviction of Trump
