Danny asked me how much weight that column could bear... Assuming 9k PSI compressive strength of SYP (Southern Yellow Pine)... ON AVERAGE SAMPLES TAKEN... 1.35 million pounds. Slenderness Ratio would be maybe (pure guess) half of that... and the control criteria...
