This is a long shot, but knowing the wide geographic shadow that the
70K+ fellow 24-hr Campfire-members cast ... here goes:

I’m the court appointed Conservator for my sister, who has Alzheimer’s
Her very-low mile 2018 vehicle was stolen by a “known” bad actor and a
recent Car-fax indicates the car may be in Santa Clarita, California.

I’m not asking anyone to drive hours to get there, but if an established
member here lives in or very-very close to . . . and could do a drive-by to
check this out, it would save me a flight into Burbank, possible days in
a rental car, lodging etc. trying to determine if her vehicle is there.

This is not a general broadcast – “Be on the Lookout for”. It’s a recon, to
see if her vehicle is at a specific easily-visible location (that I will provide)
and if so, what plates it might carry (or none ?).

I won’t be posting-up the specific details here and certainly not recruiting
for any vigilante efforts. Everything has to be By-the-book-Legal. The
Bad-actor is a low-life deadbeat, elder abusing, career scumbag and the
location is one of his favorites, aka: a low-rent Trailer Park. <no offense>

If you happen to live in Santa Clarita (or really-really close), send me a PM,
so I can reach you offline ... Please don’t post your address or contact info here,
but in your PM give me an idea of what part of Santa Clarita you are in and
I’ll try to connect with someone who is closest.

PS. Once this “search” has reached a (hopefully favorable) conclusion,
I will update the members with . . . . “The Rest of the Story” . . . and
I can focus on her care . . . and maybe even a Spring Bear hunt !

Thanks in advance ...

Good luck.

L.W.

EDIT: Give your local police the LASD Santa Clarita Station's telephone number I posted. If the "bad guy" is a real criminal, LASD might already have him in their computer.

They investigate stolen vehicles and can put the car in the list of stolen vehicles.

It would be hard to prove that she didn’t loan the vehicle.

You should move her close to you so you can do a better job of taking care of her.

Rick ... I’m afraid you’re going to have to raise the count <again> of Maine Rocket-Scientist
24-hr members by one. Call the Po-Po . . . Sheesh, Why didn’t I think of that - DOH !

When this is resolved ... there will be lots of details. but for now, my answers are:
Did that, filed that, did that twice, had the Rest-order, possess the valid title ... blah*3

Nothing screams “Tipped-Off’, more than a marked Police vehicle driving into a trailer park,
asking lots of questions . . . and if the stolen-vehicle is not there (on their one visit), they’re done.

Plus we’re dealing with a perp, who once alerted, is willing to either leave all his earthly possessions
behind (meager as they may be), or make one 3am stolen-car-full withdrawal and flee to another
difficult to find location . . . versus risking being sent back to a different Big-house ... where he would
be introduced to a whole world of “New” Close Personal Friends.

Lastly, our entire efforts have focused First on ensuring my sisters personal safety
and she resides in a private memory-care facility.

Now, back to the original request . . . Is there a serious 24hr member, who lives in
or very close to Santa Clarita ?

Sorry S_B, but I'm about 800 miles N of there. I have a good vehicle that wouldn't look out of place cruising through a seedy trailer park too.

Good luck with it, wish I could help.

I am still in need of some assistance in ( the area of ) Santa Clarita, California.
With over 77,000 Fire Members ... you would think Someone lives near there ...
or is that also a "Desert" for the Hunting community ?
I will let this post run through the weekend, hoping that a "local" member can help out.
