This one is missing some parts, like the lifter, pin and screw in middle of receiver. Took it all apart to inspect everything. I can not remove the firing pin even though the lifter and pin is gone. Looks to short to function. Any thoughts? I've included a pic of the chamber. Looks like firing pin was hitting low and buggered up in general. Ok? Not ok? Lastly I've read the receiver and barrel markings should match. These do not. So..... do I have a wall hanging here?

I've also posted this in the SAVAGE collectors forum hoping to get some answers. I don't mind the challenge of getting it to work, but I've never dealt with a chamber like that.

The firing pin is probably peened up and kind of stuck in the block. I recently rebuilt one. Relined the barrel, sleeved the breech end. Made new barrel retainer screw, and some other parts. If the bore is decent, you can just bore the chamber out, bush it, then re-chamber. If the bore sux, relining might be advisable. GD

The bore is actually ok. I did get the pin out. It was broke and stuck. Thank you.
