The last I checked, Amazon still had them for $159. I was gonna order one there this week anyway. This one looks good for a little less.

Odd deal. No deal, actually. Seller sent me a second PM saying he’s cancelling the sale. Something came up. 🤔

These might be $100 through Natchez right now. At least they were recently.

Now I'm trying to decide between the 3x9 or the 4x14. The rifle would be either a 30-06 or a 300 Win Mag with a mix of PNW coastal forest and clearcuts...

I actually have Burris 3-9s on a couple of my bolt action 30-06 rifles. 300 I'd probably go 12-14 on the top end but that's just me

Now I'm trying to decide between the 3x9 or the 4x14. The rifle would be either a 30-06 or a 300 Win Mag with a mix of PNW coastal forest and clearcuts... I have both and I would just stick with the 3-9. The extra magnification of the 4.5-14 is nice but I only crank it up to 12x. For some reason my eyes don't like it on 14x. The adjustable objective is especially useful on my 10/22 though. The one thing I really noticed is the weight difference. The 3-9 is 13 oz. and the 4.5-14 is 18 oz. but that 5 oz. difference is really noticeable to me.

2x7 is enough for 300 yards on deer, certainly a 3x9 .
I hunted a 2x7 Leupold for many years in western Montana and never felt under scoped. Took elk and deer to 300 yards in clear cut and mountain hunting . The 2x is very nice for brush hunting and bear protection.
Did not go to 3x9 until I moved back to Indiana and the big corn fields and bought a 4.5x16 yesterday [Burris] and a Vortex Diamondback 4x12 for yotes and long deer and yes, the extra weight is there!

Zackley. Assuming the purpose is hunting, 3-9 means less glass than a 4.5-14, which means less weight, less shake, more light and more eye relief.
