Won't recommend one in particular but will recommend one not made of Chinesium.

I have a Leupold 6x42 w/M-1 elevation dial on my Kimber Montana 7-08. I've killed deer and coyotes to 425yds and shot steel to 750. I'm about to play "musical scopes" again and the Montana will get a 3-10 SHV.

I always look to see how the scope looks in relation to the rifle. I also try to mount the smaller scope on the smaller rifle, etc...

Good suggestions. My 7-08 wears a Conquest 3-9x40 with a elevation turret, Ballistic tape for the fav load.

My Creed has the Nightforce SHV, both good choices.

Same here. I prefer that it looks like the rifle is wearing the scope rather than the scope wearing the rifle.

The SHV is kinda fat at 30mm, but is pretty short.

The 1" Conquest looks more streamline in some ways, although it's longer.

Which one do you guys think looks better?

Functionally, not that much difference. Both are quality scopes with good glass. Both hold zero, the Conquest tracks OK, although the elevation turret turns the wrong way. The SHV was set and forget.

Leupold VX 3 3.5-10 with a CDS turret would be my pick of new scopes. Otherwise keep your eye out for a good secondhand deal.
