I've got the shroud removed and need to knock out the retaining pin that holds the safety in place.
Is there a trick to getting the pin out or is there a special tool I'll only need for this specific job?
It's a bolt for a pre-war mod-70.

Got the pin removed. Any hints on getting the safety past the spring/pin that engage the safety positions?

You need to twist it and pull on it to get it out,

Find the post-64 M70 firing pin removal tool thread that was posted in the Winchester Collector’s Forum on Nov. 17, 2023. There’s a Winchester factory tutorial with pics that you’ll find very helpful

You need to twist it and pull on it to get it out, Yes, assuming he's got the firing pin removed first...
