Boys and girls, if you are living in Los Angeles, or nearby, or just visiting, if you like great food prepared "like they used to," you would be well served to visit The Pantry diner in downtown Los Angeles on Figueroa Street. I miss very little about L.A. or Calif., but I really miss this 100 years old diner. I've eaten there many times, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Outstanding food and desserts. https://pantrycafe.restaurant/menu/If you are in L.A. and have time, give it a shot. I do not think you will be disappointed. L.W.

Their food looks great! Making me hungry. If I'm ever in downtown LA (highly unlikely) I'm going there.

I'll second LW's. Ate their many times in the 90s while on business. Owned by the last halfway decent Mayor of that City.

LW - never been there, and like you there’s not too many things I miss bad enough I’d ever go back.
One of the local hangouts I do regret not being able to have a beer and burger at though….
If I used the words “Don’s” and “Burbank” in the same sentence I’m sure you’d know!
Loved that place.

Loved that place. Do you mean Don Cuco's Mexican Restaurant?? If so, yes, I and my wife ate there several times. Good Mexican chow. L.W.

Don’s in Burbank had the best burgers in town.
Celebs would drop in all the time, the place had autographed pictures covering the walls. It was around since time began, unfortunately burned to the ground sometime around ‘94 I think.

I guess I missed Don's burgers. My wife and I did eat quite a few burgers at Bob's Big Boy, in Burbank. Good burgers there, too. L.W.
