Look around the world before mechanized transportation.
Folks who lived in cold places where you worked hard to prepare,
or died come winter, created civilizations. Damn near everything we
consider civilization. While struggling to grow food and water fuel for winter.
Most places with more moderate weather, or hot only?
Didn't.
Anywhere those from the second category settle in large congregations,
regress to uncivilization.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

We were there! Navajo annual fair, Shiprock, New Mexico. God almighty. Indian cops misdirecting traffic while their local language station blared away native chanting on the radio, trapped between big rigs idling pollution for a solid hour.

regress to uncivilization. Bingo! You guys are pretty good fellas but you seem to be forgetting a few civilizations that started in places that are considered "hot only" or more "moderate" weather. Egypt, the Fertile Crescent, Cambodia and Thailand, Central America, and let's not forget the basic starting grounds of our culture, Crete, Greece and Rome and the Med. None of those places strike me as very cold places where folks had to struggle for fuel and food in winter.

I like to froze to death in Turkey one time. Along the coast. Due east of Greece. Yeah, but that ain't freezing like in Alturas! Ain't no civilization here. Oh yeah, that crap along the streets in the video................reminds me of NYC during a Sanitation Workers' Strike. We have some folks around here, just let scheidt pile up. Stacked in trailers and in dead cars with broken out windows and wheel missing. Reminds me, I need to print out the County Code and my pics of the place down the street to bring to the landlord of the place. Going to be neighborly first and tell him to address the issue or I take those to the County Commissioners meeting and ask for Code Enforcement to come down hard on him
